The education of youth [is] an employment of more consequence
than making laws and preaching the Gospel, because it lays
the foundation on which both law and Gospel rest for success.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Why are you still called Albion Christian College if you are not in Albion?

We like the name, and in leu of a campus, we are going to keep the name Albion Christian College during this formational time. We are also still interested in the Albion Campus.

  2. Why another Christian College?

“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). The truths found in scripture are applicable to all areas of life, to all subjects in the curriculum, to all nations and governments. The process of applying these truths requires research and reasoning abilities at a higher intellectual level. Research is required not only in Biblical truths but also in the Providential history of all nations. The providential history of nations is being buried under the mass of information available today. The richness of God's work must be mined.

God has said “See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse- the blessing if you obey the commands of the LORD your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the LORD your God and turn from the way that I command you” (Deuteronomy 11:26-28). The consequences of man's free-willed response to God's love and provision brings blessings or difficulties. God's blessings are contingent to a deepening understanding and a warmhearted obedience to God's ways. This understanding of God's truths permeates all areas of learning. Colleges either energize or paralyze a vibrant faith.

  3. Why a college in southern Idaho?

There is not a non-denominational independent Christian college within several hundred miles.

  4. Why Albion?

Located in the foothills of Southern Idaho's Rocky Mountains, Albion is a beautiful location to study, think and play. The land for the college was used by the state of Idaho for 70 years as a college before irrigation moved the centers of population from the hills into the Magic Valley.

The history of the land as an educational training institution makes it an ideal place for training teachers. The museum on the grounds is run by an alumnus of Albion Normal School and shows much of the historical methods we will use in education. The pre-made campus is ideal for a college.

  5. Are you nuts?

There is a great need for the form of education that Albion Christian College is teaching and for pastors and ministry leaders trained to seek revival. Starting ACC is a great adventure, which means we are moving forward with fear; but, we move forward knowing that what we are doing is needed and will bring glory to God.

Whether that is nuts, you can decide.

  6. What makes this college unique?

The educational framework and philosophy will reflect influences of Christian classical education, The Principle Approach™, and other historically successful methods of education.

Also, we are a non-denominational college in the Arminian Pietist tradition committed to scholarship within that tradition. We will compare all historical doctrines with God's inerrant word.

  7. Why Independent and Non-Denominational?

“That all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:21). We believe in the unity of believers.

  8. What type of missions opportunities will you have?

Albion Christian College plans to partner with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) as well as other missions organizations to offer some credit for missions work done.
